Announcement: 2nd AASUP/ATU Library ESG Webinar Series 2026

Following the successful launch of the AASUP/ATU Library Webinar Series earlier this year, the organizers are pleased to announce the second edition of the 2026 series, which promises to deepen the conversation on sustainability, energy transition, and corporate responsibility.

The first AASUP/ATU Library webinar, held in February 2026, brought together close to fifty participants from academia, banking, health, and other sectors. The highly interactive session demonstrated strong interest in sustainability and climate action across different industries. During that webinar, the keynote speaker highlighted the importance of moving beyond discussions toward practical implementation, accountability, and measurable climate impact, particularly for developing countries such as Ghana. The session also emphasized the need for stronger climate financing mechanisms, improved institutional capacity, and coordinated national systems to support sustainability initiatives.

Building on the momentum from this successful inaugural session, the organizers are excited to present the 2nd AASUP/ATU Library ESG Webinar Series, scheduled as follows:

Topic: Navigating the Risk & Opportunities of the Energy Transition for Corporate Entities
Date: Friday, 10th April 2026
Time: 10:00 AM
Format: Online

This upcoming session will focus on how corporate organizations can effectively respond to the rapidly evolving energy transition landscape, while managing risks and leveraging emerging opportunities in sustainability and ESG implementation.

The webinar will feature Ing. Kwaku Wiafe, Director of Engineering at the Volta River Authority, as the guest speaker. With extensive experience in Ghana’s energy sector, Ing. Wiafe will provide expert insights into the implications of the energy transition for corporate entities, including infrastructure planning, energy sustainability, and strategic risk management.

The session will be moderated by Ing. Prof. Kwadwo Adinkrah-Appiah, Vice-Chancellor of Sunyani Technical University and a respected advocate for sustainable technologies, renewable energy innovation, and green campus initiatives.

This webinar series is jointly organized by the Association of African Sustainability Practitioners in collaboration with the Accra Technical University Library and Think Energy Media. The initiative aims to create a platform for knowledge exchange, professional capacity building, and cross-sector dialogue on sustainability and ESG practices across Africa.

Participants can expect a dynamic session that will explore:

  • The emerging risks and opportunities in the global energy transition

  • What energy transition means for businesses and corporate governance

  • How organizations can position themselves for ESG compliance and sustainability reporting

  • Practical insights from Ghana’s energy sector leadership

The organizers encourage professionals, academics, students, policy makers, and industry stakeholders to participate in this important conversation.
